Equipment
- 1 9 x 13 sheet pan
- Parchment paper
Ingredients
- 12 oz dark chocolate I prefer Ghirardelli 60% cacao bittersweet chocolate
- 1/2 pint fresh strawberries washed, hulled, and sliced
Instructions
- Wash, hull, and slice the strawberries. Lay out on paper towels, also cover with paper towels, to dry, about 1 - 2 hours.
- Line a 9 x 13 sheet pan with parchment paper. Lay out the strawberries on the parchment paper.
- In a microwave safe bowl, melt the chocolate in 30 second intervals in the microwave. Mix well each time until the chocolate is melted. Melting the chocolate in intervals will ensure the chocolate does not burn.
- Pour the melted chocolate over the strawberries. Use a spatula to spread the chocolate evenly.
- Put the pan in the freezer for about 2 hours.
- Remove from the freezer and pull the parchment sheet from the pan onto a cutting board. Remove parchment paper. Using a large kitchen knife, break apart the chocolate to form broken pieces.
- Store in a parchment lined container in the freezer.
