Lemon Herbed Orzo

  • 1 cup dried orzo pasta
  • 1/4 cup reserved pasta water
  • 2 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tbsp basil finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp chives finely chopped
  • 2 tsp thyme fresh
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper


  • Cook dried orzo pasta according to package directions.
  • Drain pasta. Return pasta and reserved pasta water to a saucepan.
  • Stir in lemon zest, basil, chives, thyme, salt, and ground black pepper. Cook and stir over medium heat until water is absorbed, about 5 minutes. Serve warm.
