
Fresh Salsa
This easy homemade salsa recipe is one of the best ways to amp up Mexican night! I love using fresh tomatoes and peppers from my garden in the summer. Once you see how quick and easy it is to make, you'll never go back to the jarred stuff!
Equipment
- 1 food processor
Ingredients
- 4 medium tomatoes cut into quarters
- 1 small onion cut into large chunks
- 1 cup fresh cilantro
- 1 medium jalapeño seeds removed
- 3 cloves garlic chopped coarsely
- 1 tbsp lime juice fresh
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 tsp lime juice optional, to squeeze over at the end
Instructions
- Cut the tomatoes into quarters, the onion into large chunks and remove cut the jalapeño in half, then remove the seeds.
- Combine all the ingredients in a food processor.
- Pulse until desired consistency is reached.
- Stir in the salt. You may need to adjust the salt to your taste.
- Pour into a bowl. Squeeze fresh lime juice over the salsa (optional). Enjoy with your favorite chips!
Notes
If you prefer to turn up the heat, add more jalapeño peppers and/or don't remove the seeds. Be sure to adjust the taste to your liking!
