Easy Strawberry Sauce

  • 1 lb strawberries rinsed, hulled and thickly sliced in half
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice about 1/2 Lemon


  • Rinse, hull and slice the strawberries in half.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine sliced strawberries, sugar and lemon juice. Place over medium heat and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Strawberries will begin releasing juice.
  • Gently mash strawberries with the back of a spoon or masher. Reduce heat and simmer about 30 minutes or until sauce is thickened, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove from heat and cool to room temperature. The sauce will continue to thicken up slightly as it cools and more so when refrigerated.
  • Place in an airtight container or sterilized jar and keep refrigerated for up to 4 days.
